"Bobrisky Is Not In Any Vip Apartment In Prison. He Is Staying In A Shared Cell With Other Inmates" NCoS Reveals

The Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service has refuted claims circulating online regarding the accommodation of Bobrisky, the incarcerated crossdresser, in a VIP one-bedroom apartment at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre. The reports suggested that Bobrisky, serving a six-month sentence for abusing the naira notes, was housed in a newly constructed VIP section.

In response, the NCoS spokesperson, Rotimi Oladokun, clarified that the correctional center does not have en-suite style cells. According to a statement released, it was emphasized that Bobrisky, whose real name is Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, is undergoing his sentence within the facility and is entitled to the same rehabilitative and educational opportunities as other inmates. He has been allocated a shared cell, as there are no one-bedroom flat-style accommodations in the center; the infrastructure is designed to house multiple inmates.

The statement further highlights that Bobrisky is not receiving any special privileges or amenities and is treated like any other inmate. All inmates, including Bobrisky, have the right to family and legal visits, which are regulated by the NCoS. The Controller of Corrections for Lagos Command urged the public to disregard the misleading reports.
