The gospel music community is mourning the loss of rising star Aduke Ajayi, known as Aduke Gold, who has passed away. Fellow gospel artist Esther Igbekele shared the sad news on social media, posting a tribute that read, “A general has fallen. RIP.” Aduke Gold’s death follows the recent passing of another prominent gospel singer, Egbin Orun, in April 2024.
Aduke Gold had made a significant impact in the gospel music industry with her inspiring songs and dedication to her craft. Her breakthrough single, “Nitori 0go” (“Because of Glory”), from her popular eight-track album, gained widespread praise on social media, earning her a growing fanbase.
Despite her success, Aduke Gold’s journey was marked by early struggles. She once shared on Instagram how she overcame hardships, from selling slippers and fish to working in a frozen foods store. Orphaned at the age of four, she battled severe vertigo but continued to pursue her dreams.
Aduke Gold’s academic achievements were equally remarkable. She earned a degree in History and International Relations from Lagos State University, supported by a scholarship from Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele. Additionally, she held a higher degree in Child Psychology, a Diploma in Montessori Education from the UK, and other qualifications in Special Education, Aquaculture, Cake Making, and more.
Beyond music, Aduke Gold was passionate about working with children with special needs, including those with autism, cerebral palsy, and dyslexia. Her dedication to both her art and her community leaves a lasting legacy.
