“My ex-husband told producers not to work with me and married a new wife after I struggled with him" Mama No Network Opens Up on Failed Marriage

Nollywood actress Kudirat Abeniade, popularly known as Mama No Network, has opened up about her failed marriage to fellow actor Baba Lanko. In an emotional interview with Biola Bayo on her show, Talk to B, Mama No Network shared the struggles they faced during their marriage and how things changed once success arrived.

She recounted that she and Baba Lanko worked hard together, producing many films, but when fame and money came, Baba Lanko expressed his desire to marry another wife. Their marriage eventually broke down, and Baba Lanko reportedly instructed movie producers not to cast her in any films he was part of. Despite this, Mama No Network clarified that she was not the one who left the marriage—Baba Lanko stopped coming home.

Reflecting on the difficult period in her life, she revealed the emotional and physical toll of trying to conceive. She endured extreme measures, even drinking kerosene, which she says contributed to her swollen stomach. However, when she had almost given up hope, she miraculously conceived naturally. Now, she gives thanks to God for turning things around, noting that Baba Lanko even reaches out to her for movie roles.

"When money and fame came, he told me he wanted to marry a new wife. After our marriage broke up, he told producers not to feature me in the same movie he would appear in. Glory be to God today; he uses the money to call me for movie production. I wasn’t the one who left the marriage; he stopped coming home. When I was still in the marriage and was looking for a baby, I went through hell. I was once given kerosine to drink. All the things I ate and drank contributed to my big stomach. When God answered my prayer, the pregnancy came naturally when I had given up," she shared.
