Renowned Fuji musician and philanthropist, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, has once again demonstrated his commitment to education and community development by commissioning a state-of-the-art mosque at Ipori Grammar School, Lagos.
The multi-million naira project, inaugurated in a grand ceremony, was met with joy and gratitude from students, staff, and members of the surrounding community. Designed with modern facilities, the mosque will serve as a serene place of worship and spiritual reflection for students and staff.
Speaking at the event, Obesere emphasized the significance of faith and education in shaping young minds.
"This mosque is not just a place of worship; it is a symbol of hope, unity, and dedication to the future of our children. Education and spirituality go hand in hand, and I am honored to contribute to both," he stated.
Addressing the students, he urged them to prioritize their studies and remain disciplined in their pursuits.
"Education is the key to unlocking your potential. With determination and focus, there is no limit to what you can achieve," he advised, receiving a warm round of applause.
The commissioning ceremony was graced by community leaders, school staff, parents, and members of the Lagos Muslim community. The principal of Ipori Grammar School expressed deep appreciation, describing the mosque as a valuable addition that would enrich the students both spiritually and academically.
"This mosque is a blessing to our school. It will not only enhance the spiritual lives of our students but also inspire them to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives," the principal remarked.
Obesere’s gesture serves as a testament to the role individuals can play in fostering societal growth by investing in meaningful initiatives that uplift communities.
