Veteran Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bukky Wright has officially returned to Nigeria after spending years abroad, revealing the reasons behind her temporary exit from the industry.
In a recent interview with The Punch, the actress, known for her elegance and outstanding acting skills, disclosed that she ventured into the tech industry while in the United States. Despite initial skepticism, she successfully built a career in the field and now plans to balance both technology and entertainment.
“I will be practicing [tech] simultaneously with entertainment. Many people thought I wouldn’t be able to transition from entertainment to tech, but I did. I always tell my mentees that if I can do it, they can too,” she said.
Speaking on what she missed most about Nigeria, Bukky shared her love for local cuisine and acting.
“I can’t wait to eat proper Naija amala again. And, of course, I miss acting alongside Nollywood stars,” she added.
Assuring fans of her full return to Nollywood, Bukky teased upcoming projects, including The Return of Omotara Johnson.
“I have a lot in store for my fans. I am back to stay,” she declared.
The actress, known for her timeless beauty, credited her youthful appearance to prioritizing rest.
“I don’t joke with my beauty sleep,” she stated.
Bukky Wright is also set to appear in the star-studded film Something About The Briggs, which premieres on January 31. The movie features top actors such as Daniel Etim Effiong, Rita Dominic, Iyabo Ojo, Stan Nze, and Liz Benson-Ameye.
