Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy, has filed a lawsuit against Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, the mother of the late singer Mohbad, over alleged defamatory statements.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, February 19, Primeboy shared a copy of the legal document, which was filed at the Lagos High Court, Ikeja Judicial Division.
According to the lawsuit, Abosede made libelous and malicious statements about him during a video interview on March 28, 2024. Primeboy claims the remarks, which were widely published by multiple news outlets, were meant to damage his reputation.
In the suit, Primeboy is demanding ₦50 million in damages for what he describes as “libelous, injurious, false, and malicious statements” made against him.
This legal action comes amid ongoing controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death. Recently, the singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, urged the Nigeria Police Force to summon Mohbad’s younger brother, Adura, and his partner, Omawunmi, to provide more insights into the case. Aloba raised concerns about their silence, suggesting that external influences might be preventing them from speaking out.
