Renowned Yoruba movie star Adewale Sanusi has revealed the key to maintaining a loving and peaceful relationship with his wife. In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV’s YouTube channel, the actor disclosed that he actively takes care of household chores, cooks for his wife, and ensures his children are well cared for.
Sanusi emphasized that no relationship is perfect, but he believes his wife was destined for him because they understand each other deeply. “I can’t remember the last time we had a quarrel,” he said. “I clean the house, look after the children, and cook for my wife. Every Christmas, I’m the one who prepares the pounded yam we distribute to people.”
He explained that his devotion to his family stems from his upbringing. Raised by a single mother without his father’s influence, Sanusi vowed to ensure his own children never experience the struggles he faced.
His Acting Career and Return to Nigeria
Sanusi disclosed that his passion for acting started in secondary school, but he never considered it a career. His dream was to work in a corporate organization. After completing his tertiary education, he set out to travel abroad in search of better opportunities.
During his journey, he got stranded in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where he lived for several years. While there, he joined a drama group, unknowingly paving the way for his future in acting. His mother later advised him to return home, assuring him that Nollywood was booming and new stars were emerging.
Upon his return to Nigeria, Sanusi reached out to actor Soji Taiwo, who connected him with veteran actors Yinka Quadri and Muka Ray. Although he couldn’t reach Yinka Quadri, Muka Ray responded and invited him to join his acting group at LTV 8. It was in this group that Sanusi learned the fundamentals of acting, setting the stage for his successful career in Yoruba Nollywood.
