"I still haven’t found the actor who scammed me of the money I borrowed from my father to produce a movie" — Lateef Adedimeji opens up about betrayal and the industry colleague who came to his aid.

Popular Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has opened up about a painful experience in his filmmaking journey—being defrauded of money he had borrowed from his father to produce his own movie. Despite the setback, he also recalled how some colleagues in the industry rallied around to support him during that challenging time.

In an interview featured on the official YouTube channel of Babaibe TV, Lateef recounted how, to this day, he has been unable to track down the actor who made away with the funds meant for his film project.

Sharing his story, he said: “I borrowed money from my father, but unfortunately I could not make any profit from the money. The actor that collected the money from me is still owing me 400,000 naira. I still can’t find the actor that duped me out of the money I borrowed from my dad for a movie. Despite the disappointment, I didn’t give up, and Yinka Quadri, Fathia Williams, and late actress Bisi Komolafe were the ones that helped me to get over the situation.”
