Veteran Actress Jumoke George Breaks Down Over Homelessness, Health Crisis—Receives ₦4.5M Lifeline from Good Samaritans

Veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George has emotionally opened up about the deep struggles she is currently facing, including poor health, financial hardship, and homelessness.

In a moving interview with fellow actress Biola Bayo, Jumoke revealed that she has been homeless for over five years, depending on the kindness of her church for shelter and food. She credited the pastor’s wife for supporting and feeding her during this difficult period.

The actress also disclosed that her health has been failing. Since January 2nd, she has been in and out of the hospital, battling various illnesses. She is now in debt, with her son reportedly borrowing ₦2 million to help with medical bills. Jumoke said she urgently needs to undergo brain and heart tests but doesn’t have the money to pay for them.

Making matters even worse, she shared that her first child, a daughter, has been missing for four years, leaving her alone to care for her grandchildren.

Moved by her story, a well-meaning friend named Adetunji Dolapo contacted Mr. Latin (Bolaji Amusan), President of TAMPAN (Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria), to get Jumoke’s contact. With help from several others including Marufah Motunrayo Muhammed, Àpóstélì Onès Kayode, and Spear News, they quickly reached out to the actress.

In less than two hours, an anonymous donor, described as a close friend and brother to the helper, credited ₦5 million to support Jumoke George. Due to a daily bank transfer limit, only ₦4.5 million could be sent immediately.

Jumoke acknowledged receiving the money in a heartfelt voice note via WhatsApp. Her deep and emotional prayers touched the hearts of everyone involved.

The quick and kind response from these individuals has been praised widely, with many saying it shows that God works through people.

Fans and fellow Nollywood stars continue to call for more help and prayers for the beloved actress as she battles to recover and rebuild her life.
