The ongoing drama between controversial singer Portable and Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has taken a new twist — this time through music.
Earlier in the week, Portable sparked the clash when he accused Laide Bakare in a viral video of inviting him to perform at her party without having the money to pay for his services. According to Portable, he refused the invitation, which allegedly angered Laide, leading her to insult him by calling him "a dirty boy from Sango."
Laide swiftly responded in a fiery video, addressing Portable in Yoruba. She warned him to stop mentioning her name and threatened to deal with him if he continued. She used the phrase “dabara bo e”, a Yoruba expression meaning she would give him a hard slap on the back, and made it clear she wouldn’t tolerate any form of disrespect.
In response, Portable turned the feud into music by releasing a diss track targeting Laide. The singer cleverly incorporated Laide’s slap remark into the chorus and used her words as lyrical punches in the song.
The development has kept fans and followers glued to their screens, as the back-and-forth continues to spark debate and reactions across social media.
