Respected Nollywood veteran Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has made a surprising revelation about a woman who intentionally joined the film industry just to pursue a romantic relationship with him.
In an exclusive interview released on Oyinmomo TV’s YouTube channel on Friday, July 4, 2025, the Yoruba movie icon opened up about his past, sharing how a lady entered the acting profession with the sole aim of getting close to him — a plan that eventually worked, as the two later dated.
“A lady joined filmmaking because she wanted to date me, and we ended up dating each other,” Ogogo disclosed. “She is still alive, and I believe she would be laughing if she’s watching this interview. Sadly, her acting career only lasted a few years.”
The actor did not mention her name but hinted that their relationship, though brief in the industry, had lasting personal implications.
Beyond the romance, Ogogo also spoke about a very dark chapter of his life, recalling a period when he feared he might not survive a serious illness. He shared that at the time, he removed his “Mecca teeth,” a culturally symbolic gesture that signified surrendering to death.
His heartfelt confession has drawn emotional reactions from fans, who have praised the actor’s honesty and resilience. Many expressed admiration for how he overcame personal and emotional battles, yet remained strong both on and off screen.
Ogogo’s revelation adds to the growing number of Nollywood veterans speaking out about the hidden realities behind their public lives — a move many fans appreciate for its openness and depth.
