Nollywood actor Lekan Olatunji is filled with joy as his first son graduates from secondary school.
The proud father shared a heartwarming video of himself signing his son’s uniform during the sign-out celebration, expressing his happiness over the milestone. He captioned the video: “Congratulations Olori Ebi… More wins.”
This comes months after the actor emotionally recounted his painful experience during his late wife Wunmi’s battle with cancer.
Speaking on the “Talk to B” show with actress Biola Bayo, Olatunji revealed that he had emptied his bank account and sold two of his cars at very low prices in a desperate bid to save his wife’s life.
He explained that he was unaware of her condition until a medical checkup revealed that the breast cancer had spread to her spinal cord, leaving her unable to walk.
“When we came to Lagos for the checkup, we didn’t even see any Nigerian; Indians were the ones operating the machines. When we saw the result, it was cancer, but instead of reacting in her body, it hit her spinal cord. That was why she couldn’t walk again,” he said.
Olatunji further revealed that doctors recommended two urgent surgeries costing ₦12.5 million, but despite his efforts, including selling his cars and exhausting his savings, he couldn’t raise enough funds before her passing.
“In her presence, she looked at me and started crying. I said don’t worry, but I went outside and started crying,” he recounted.
The actor’s touching revelation and his recent joyful celebration of his son’s academic achievement have stirred emotional reactions from fans, who continue to sympathize with his loss while congratulating him on his son’s success.
