The President of the Theatre and Motion Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Baba Latin, has honored veteran filmmaker Adebayo Salami, widely known as Oga Bello, as he celebrates his 60th year in the Nigerian film industry.
In a heartfelt tribute shared on his official Facebook page ahead of the premiere of Oga Bello’s new cinema movie, Her Excellency, Baba Latin described the veteran as a living legend, a pioneer, and a national treasure whose life and work have shaped Nollywood into what it is today.
“For six glorious decades, Oga Bello has graced our screens and stages with unmatched grace, depth, and distinction,” he wrote.
Baba Latin praised Oga Bello’s resilience, mentorship, and cultural impact, noting that Her Excellency is not just a film, but a powerful statement of his enduring relevance and creativity. He acknowledged the role Oga Bello has played in mentoring younger talents, preserving African storytelling, and building the Nigerian film industry from stage drama to global cinema.
“Your legacy is not only in the roles you played but in the lives you have shaped and the industry you helped build,” he added.
He concluded by congratulating Oga Bello on six decades of excellence, leadership, and inspiration, calling him a global icon whose legacy will continue to shine across generations.
