Veteran Nollywood actor Tajudeen Oyewole, popularly known as Abija, has opened up about a painful chapter in his life when he nearly took his own life.

In an interview on the Feel Right News TV YouTube channel, shared Friday, August 22, 2025, the Yoruba movie star recalled that the incident happened years ago during a period of personal struggle.

Abija explained that he was devastated after being denied the opportunity to travel for pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, describing the experience as a heartbreaking and discouraging moment. The disappointment pushed him to the brink of suicide.

According to him, while on his way to carry out the act, he unexpectedly met his girlfriend, who made remarks that suggested she knew what he was planning, even though he had confided in no one. The encounter left him shocked, frightened, and convinced it was almost supernatural.

He revealed that the meeting changed everything, forcing him to pause, reflect, and ultimately abandon the idea. Abija described the moment as a turning point in his life and one of his most unforgettable experiences.
