Nigerian footballer and husband of Nollywood actress Bose Alao, Razak Omotoyosi, has been laid to rest.
The former Beninese international, who was married to the Yoruba actress and fathered her children, passed away a few days ago at the age of 38 in Benin.
His burial took place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his residence, where family members, friends, fans, and well-wishers gathered to pay their last respects. In a video from the funeral, Bose Alao was seen in tears as she bade an emotional farewell to her late husband.
Just last month, Bose Alao had spoken openly about her marital journey in an interview with actress Biola Bayo. She revealed that after being separated from her husband for three years, she eventually found herself becoming his “side chick.” She also recalled a painful incident where another woman answered Razak’s phone and mockingly called her an “old taker,” an experience that left her heartbroken.
Back in 2018, Bose Alao had publicly announced the end of her marriage to the footballer, citing domestic violence. However, in a surprising turn of events, she later apologized to her husband for bringing their issues to the public. While admitting that there had been instances of abuse, she said both of them shared responsibility and were undergoing therapy to mend their relationship.
In a chat with Punch at the time, Bose explained that her marriage was still intact, adding that she preferred to keep family matters off social media while they sought healing.
