Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa cannot hide her joy as she continues to celebrate motherhood. The former OAP, who welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Yakira Eliana, at 40, is gushing over her little princess.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Toke bragged about her daughter’s beauty, saying her baby is naturally adorable. She wrote:
“My pikin fine o, no be because na me born am o. I just looked at her and damnnnn, she is adorable.”
Just days earlier, Toke penned a heartfelt note to her newborn, describing how Yakira had changed her status and healed the broken heart she had carried since she was 8 years old. She admitted that she was already lost in her daughter’s big, beautiful eyes and learning so much about motherhood.
On her podcast, the media star broke down in tears while reflecting on her journey. She revealed that she had prayed to God to become a mother at 40, and her prayers were answered when she got pregnant the month after her birthday.
Toke also shared her struggles during pregnancy. After gracing the cover of Marie Claire magazine, she confessed that she had spent months living in fear, worried something might go wrong. At one point, she even wanted to hide her joy from the world. But she later reminded herself of God’s promise, saying: “The gift of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow.”
Fans and colleagues have continued to shower Toke with love, praising her strength and celebrating this new chapter of her life.
