Residents of Oworonshoki Protest Home Demolitions, Block 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos (Video)

The 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos came to a standstill today as residents of Oworonshoki stormed the highway to protest the demolition of their homes by the Lagos State Government.

The protesters, who came out in large numbers, accused the government of destroying their houses without giving proper notice or paying compensation. They lamented that the action has rendered many families homeless.

Holding placards and chanting slogans, the residents demanded accountability and urgent intervention from the authorities.

The protest, which began in the early hours of the morning, caused heavy gridlock on the bridge, leaving motorists stranded and forcing some to seek alternative routes.

Security operatives were later deployed to the scene to restore calm and ensure traffic flow resumed.
