Tension continues to grip Eruku, Kwara State, after 38 worshippers were abducted from a local church by bandits. A disturbing viral video has heightened fear, as relatives report that the kidnappers are now demanding ₦20 million per victim, deepening despair among families.

A News Central journalist on the ground reported that residents are fleeing the community, leaving homes empty overnight in fear of further raids. The church pastor revealed that his first son is among the kidnapped, describing the ordeal as “devastating” and noting that the entire congregation remains in shock.

According to a relative, the kidnappers initially demanded ₦100 million per person before reducing it to ₦20 million. Many families, coming from modest rural backgrounds, say the new ransom is still impossible to pay.
