Boluwatife Balogun, the first son of music star Wizkid, has joined Nigerians in reacting to the rising insecurity in the country. This comes after the abduction of 25 girls in Kebbi and the violent attack in Kwara State.
In a post on Twitter, the young singer said he chose to speak out not because he is special, but because he belongs to a generation that refuses to stay silent. He stressed that young people are the future of Nigeria and will not accept a country filled with fear.
He also offered prayers, asking God to protect the missing children and heal the nation.
His post read in part:
“I speak today not because I am special, but because I am part of a generation that refuses to stay silent.
We are the future of this country, and we will not accept a future filled with fear.
May God protect every child still missing, and may God heal this nation.”

“Your mama train you well,” one user wrote.

“Building his own legacy, I love this,” another said.
-
“Wisdom doesn’t come with age. Well raised,” a fan added.

Others praised him for being wiser than many politicians’ children.
Rising Star in Music
Boluwatife has been gaining attention recently after announcing his music career. Two weeks ago, he released a video of himself working in the studio, supported by his mother, Sola Ogudugu, and his manager.
Last week, he dropped his debut EP, “Champion Arrival.” The project quickly hit No. 1 on music platforms in less than five hours. Reports say the EP is charting in 16 countries on Apple Music and sits at No. 71 on the UK Apple Music Top Albums list—making him the youngest African artist to top Apple Music Nigeria’s album chart.
His father, Wizkid, who spoke during a Knicks game in New York, expressed pride in his son’s achievement, saying he loves the EP.
Bolu in the Spotlight
Bolu has also made headlines for his bold lyrics. In one track, “Grinds,” he fired back at critics with a controversial line saying they would regret that his father didn’t use protection.
He also became involved in an online exchange during Wizkid’s feud with Davido, where he fired back at a fan by mocking Davido.
A Well-Raised Young Star
Wizkid shares Boluwatife with Sola Ogudugu, whom he met during a university performance. Sola has received praise for raising a confident and respectful son.
At Wizkid’s mother’s burial, many admired Bolu for the love and affection he showed his half-siblings, which earned his mother further recognition for her upbringing.
