Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has marked 27 years in the Nigerian movie industry, describing her journey as one shaped by God’s favour, hard work, and discipline.
Taking to her Instagram page, the box office queen shared new photos of herself and reflected on how far she has come as an actress and filmmaker. Funke said her long stay in the industry has taught her important life lessons, especially the need for consistency, discipline, and staying focused to achieve lasting success.
According to her, surviving and thriving in Nollywood for 27 years did not come easy, but God’s grace and dedication to her craft have kept her moving forward.
“God’s favour and hard work have brought me this far. It’s been 27 years and counting in the acting and filmmaking industry,” she wrote. “The journey has taught me that consistency, discipline, and staying focused are key to continuous success.”
Funke also expressed gratitude to God for taking her to greater heights and did not forget to appreciate her fans. She thanked them for their constant love, encouragement, and support, especially for her work behind the scenes.
