The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the gantry price of petrol from N828 to N699 per litre, a significant drop of N129 or 15.58%. The new pricing took effect on December 11, 2025, making it the 20th petrol price adjustment from the refinery this year.
A source confirmed the new price, noting that it is part of the refinery’s ongoing effort to stabilise fuel costs in the country.
This latest reduction came just five days after Chairman Aliko Dangote reaffirmed his commitment to keeping fuel prices “reasonable and competitive,” despite global price fluctuations and persistent fuel smuggling at Nigeria’s borders.
Speaking after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on December 6, Dangote said fuel prices would continue to drop as the refinery increases production and competes with imported petrol.
He explained that although smuggling has reduced, it still persists because Nigerian fuel prices remain significantly lower than those in neighbouring countries.
Dangote assured consumers that both diesel and petrol would continue to be sold at fair and competitive market prices.
