Nigerian actress and reality TV star Bisola Aiyeola has shared her emotional experience as a single mother, revealing the challenges she faced in the early stages of motherhood.
Speaking in an interview with Tope Olowoniyan, Bisola said she felt scared and embarrassed when she discovered she was pregnant outside of marriage. She explained that the situation was difficult for her because her own mother had raised her as a single parent, and she worried the same pattern might repeat in her life.
The actress recalled feeling ashamed and uncertain about the future, especially since she had expected to get married at the time, but things did not go as planned. She also feared that her daughter might one day face a similar situation.
Bisola added that financial struggles in her family made the experience even harder, as she was unsure how she would cope with raising a child. She admitted that she initially found it difficult to accept motherhood and even struggled with breastfeeding her baby.
However, she said that with time, she began to accept her situation and fully embrace being a mother. She now appreciates the joy and lessons that come with raising her daughter.
Looking back, Bisola expressed gratitude for her child and the personal growth motherhood has brought into her life, describing the journey as both challenging and rewarding.
