No fewer than 32 state governors and 8,453 delegates from across Nigeria are set to join Bola Tinubu and members of his cabinet for the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), taking place in Abuja on Friday and Saturday.
The convention will also bring together top party leaders from national, zonal, state, and ward levels. During the event, new party executives are expected to emerge, marking a significant leadership transition within the ruling party.
Speaking at a world media briefing held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, Mohammed Idris, who serves as Co-Chairman of the convention’s media sub-committee, disclosed details of the gathering.
According to him, the event will unite delegates from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for key activities, including policy discussions, leadership elections, and decisions that will shape the party’s future direction.
Idris described the convention as an important milestone for the APC, noting that it reflects both continuity and renewal within the party. He added that it will also serve as an opportunity to highlight the achievements of President Bola Tinubu and showcase how his policies are being translated into results for Nigerians.
