“I Was Beaten the Most Because I Am a Celebrity” – Mr Macaroni Recounts Alleged Police Brutality During #EndSARS Arrest

Popular Nigerian comedian and activist Debo Adedayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has shared a disturbing account of his experience in police custody during the 2020 #EndSARS protests.

Speaking about the incident, the content creator revealed that his celebrity status made him a major target for physical abuse by security officers. However, he also noted that his presence may have helped protect other detainees.

According to him, he endured the most severe treatment while in custody, but believed that the officers held back to some extent because of his public profile.

In his words:

“When I was arrested during the #EndSARS protests, I was beaten the most because I am a celebrity, but I know they cannot kill me.”

He further alleged that officers made shocking statements during the incident, suggesting that the situation could have been worse if he was not present.

“The officers beating me said to my face that if I wasn’t there, they would have killed all the people,” he added.

His revelation has sparked fresh conversations online about police conduct and human rights, as many Nigerians revisit experiences from the #EndSARS protests and call for accountability.
