Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, has stirred reactions online after a video of him during his visit to Guinea surfaced on social media.
The singer recently travelled to Conakry for the grand finale of his “5IVE Alive Tour,” where he thrilled fans with performances at Chapiteau By Isa on May 8 and Esplanade du Palais on May 9. Reports stated that the shows attracted large crowds and excited fans across the country.
However, a different clip from his visit later went viral online. In the footage, Davido was seen sitting at the back of a black SUV while reacting angrily to activities happening around him on the road.
The singer appeared visibly upset as he made strong hand gestures and expressed frustration toward some road users. Although the exact reason behind his reaction remains unclear, the video quickly sparked conversations across social media platforms.
Reacting to the clip, many fans defended the singer and argued that celebrities should also be allowed to express emotions freely.
A user identified as @dflowergirlje joked that sometimes people need to “show their street side” despite trying to maintain composure.
Another user, @thipha.g.ftg, stated that celebrity life is not easy because famous people are constantly watched and criticised anytime they react naturally in public.
Supporting the singer, @4pfsage warned people not to mistake Davido’s kindness for weakness, while @bizgrowthchic noted that the internet has made many people forget that celebrities are human beings who also experience pressure, disrespect, and emotional stress.
Some commenters also reacted humorously to the singer’s appearance and behaviour in the clip. User @blessingozoemena compared him to a bus conductor, while @emmyzaza29 joked about his appearance in the video.
Others believed the singer may have been reacting to something serious involving people around his vehicle. A user identified as @kenny_child_of_god claimed Davido was likely upset over the actions of people around him and insisted he had every right to express anger if necessary.
Despite the mixed reactions, many fans continued to support Davido, saying fame should not stop celebrities from showing emotions when faced with frustrating situations.
