“I Delivered Almost Two Million Votes for Buhari but Got Nothing” – Kwankwaso Speaks on Political Struggles

A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has opened up about his disappointment with the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, claiming that his political camp contributed nearly two million votes during the election but received no recognition or benefits in return.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday night, the former Kano State governor said he and his supporters worked tirelessly and even risked their lives to help Buhari secure victory at the polls.

Kwankwaso explained that despite delivering about 1.9 million votes, neither he nor the people who supported the movement benefited from the government after the election. According to him, their sacrifices and contributions were ignored by Buhari’s camp.

The former presidential candidate stated that the experience played a major role in shaping his desire for political change in the country. He noted that many politicians and supporters who worked hard during the election period were left disappointed because they were not recognised for their efforts.

Kwankwaso also used the opportunity to speak about the current administration of President Bola Tinubu. He claimed that Nigerians are currently facing several challenges under the government and that many citizens are demanding change at different levels of society.

According to him, dissatisfaction among ordinary Nigerians and political stakeholders has continued to grow, leading to stronger calls for a new direction in the country’s leadership.

His comments have since sparked discussions in political circles, with many Nigerians reacting to his claims about past political alliances, unfulfilled expectations, and the growing demand for change in the nation’s political system.
