Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has sparked reactions online after sharing a fresh update about his proposed boxing match with colleague Lateef Adedimeji.
The actor had earlier made headlines after publicly challenging Lateef to a celebrity boxing fight. Adeniyi had appealed to organisers and sponsors of exhibition boxing matches to support the event, promising fans an unforgettable experience and value for their money.
Providing an update on the proposed showdown, Adeniyi revealed that sponsors have now been secured and the boxing match has officially been fixed for October 1, 2026.
Reacting to those who initially thought he was joking, the actor made it clear that the fight is serious. He also sent a warning message to Lateef Adedimeji’s supporters, stating that the match would be intense and brutal.
According to Adeniyi, fans supporting Lateef should stay away and also warn the actor ahead of the fight. His statement immediately stirred conversations online, with many social media users expressing excitement over the planned celebrity showdown.
Adeniyi further disclosed that Nollywood actor Jigan Babaoja would serve as the referee for the event. He added that he is currently searching for a coach and trainer to help him prepare properly for the boxing match.
