Nigerian filmmaker Chinney Love has shared a deeply emotional message following the burial of her mother in the eastern part of Nigeria.
In a post accompanied by a video from the funeral, the award-winning filmmaker revealed that March 2, 2026, was the day she received the heartbreaking call that changed her life forever. She added that her mother was later laid to rest on May 22, 2026.
Describing her late mother as her strength, love, pillar, and prayer warrior, Chinney Love expressed how difficult it has been to accept the loss. She said she would give anything to have her mother back, but also accepted that God’s will must stand.
She wrote:
“02:03:26 the day I got a call that changed my life forever!
My strength, my love, my pillar, my prayer warrior, my everything submitted to the will of God….
I would trade anything to have my mother come back, but I guess the will of God will have to prevail.
22:05:26 the day we laid my mother to rest!
Americana lives on! I love you, mummy, always and forever.”
Her post has since attracted sympathy messages from fans and colleagues, who offered condolences and support during her time of grief.
