Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has publicly advised his son-in-law to remain faithful to his daughter and not take another wife.
The message was delivered during his daughter’s wedding ceremony, where he spoke directly to the groom, urging him to prioritize peace and stability in the marriage.
According to him, many young people today prefer a peaceful home rather than a polygamous relationship with multiple wives.
He said:
“My daughter is not asking too much. All she wants from her husband she’s getting married to today is peace of mind and she doesn’t want any co-wives issues in their marriage. She doesn’t want her husband to get married to another lady.”
He further explained that although he personally has three wives, he now understands the importance of peaceful family life and would not impose such a lifestyle on younger generations.
“I know I got married to three wives but that was then. Now that I am exposed, I can’t ask any of my wives to leave my house. But you know these Gen Z children, they don’t want polygamous lifestyle. Please, my son-in-law don’t get married to another lady. Give my daughter peace of mind.”
His remarks have since generated reactions online, with many praising his advice on modern relationships while others reflected on changing views about marriage in today’s society.
