Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, has arrived in Rwanda ahead of the Africa CEO Forum 2026.
The Nigerian leader landed in Kigali on Wednesday and was warmly received by Rwanda’s President, Paul Kagame, at the Urugwiro Presidential Village.
Videos shared by the Nigerian Television Authority showed President Tinubu stepping out of a Nigerian Air Force aircraft onto a red carpet at Kigali International Airport. He was welcomed by top Rwandan government officials, inspected a guard of honour, and exchanged greetings with Nigerian and Rwandan dignitaries before leaving in a presidential convoy.
During a later ceremony, President Kagame personally welcomed Tinubu as both leaders walked together on a ceremonial red carpet surrounded by honour guards before heading indoors for bilateral talks.
Photos and videos from the meeting showed the two presidents seated side by side in a formal meeting room decorated with the national flags of Nigeria and Rwanda.
The Africa CEO Forum 2026 is scheduled to hold from May 14 to May 15 at the Kigali Convention Centre. The event is known as Africa’s biggest yearly gathering for private sector leaders, business executives, and government officials across the continent.
