Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun and his family have paid tribute to his late daughter, Zeenat Balogun, as they marked her posthumous birthday in an emotional remembrance.
A video shared on Instagram by his son, Khalid Balogun, showed the family coming together to celebrate and honour Zeenat’s memory. In the touching clip, family members spoke warmly about her life and the strength she displayed while battling Sickle Cell Anaemia.
Khalid, in his caption, described his sister’s life as one filled with courage, resilience, and grace despite her health challenges. He explained that the family chose to celebrate her birthday not only to remember her but also to raise awareness about Sickle Cell Anaemia, in line with World Sickle Cell Day.
He noted that the tribute was also meant to honour others still fighting the condition, describing them as “warriors.” According to him, although Zeenat is no longer physically present, her love, light, and legacy continue to live on in their hearts.
The post carried a heartfelt message that read in part:
“We only die when we are forgotten.”
The Balogun family expressed that Zeenat’s memory remains a source of inspiration to them, as they continue to cherish the moments they shared with her.
The emotional tribute has since drawn sympathy and support from fans and well-wishers, who joined the family in celebrating the life and legacy of the late Zeenat Balogun.
