Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has publicly reprimanded her colleague and close friend, Eniola Badmus, over her recent dispute with a makeup artist.
The controversy began after Eniola Badmus accused the makeup artist of disappointing her by failing to show up for an important event despite being booked. Angry over the incident, the actress called on her fans to drag the makeup artist online and also shared the woman's phone number on social media.
Reacting to the allegations, the makeup artist explained that she did not intentionally stand Badmus up. According to her, the actress did not make any advance payment, and her business policy requires confirmed bookings before she accepts any job. She added that she initially chose to remain silent but decided to speak out after receiving numerous threats from people online.
Addressing the issue in a video shared on her Snapchat page, Funke Akindele openly criticised Eniola Badmus over her actions. She questioned why her friend continues to engage in online fights despite repeatedly advising her against it.
Funke described Badmus' decision to expose the makeup artist online as completely wrong. She warned that if Eniola was unwilling to accept correction, she should stop visiting her.
The actress also expressed sympathy for the makeup artist, saying what happened to her was unfair and declaring that she would stand up for the woman.
Funke said, "Badosky, why were you misbehaving online? I have told you to stop fighting and abusing people online. What you did is totally wrong. If you can't let me correct you, don't visit me. What you did to that woman was bad. I am going to fight for her."
The incident has continued to spark reactions on social media, with many Nigerians praising Funke Akindele for speaking up and encouraging celebrities to handle disputes privately instead of exposing service providers to online harassment.
