Police Link Adelabu Family Kidnap Case to Insider as Investigation Continues

The Oyo State Police Command has revealed that a personal assistant working for a member of the family of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, is suspected of collaborating with kidnappers who abducted Adelabu’s sister and her two children in Ibadan.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, preliminary investigations suggest that the kidnapping operation may have involved an insider who was close to the family.

The police disclosed that the suspect, who served as a personal assistant to a member of the Adelabu family, allegedly played a role in assisting the kidnappers during the incident that led to the abduction of the victims in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Authorities believe the involvement of someone familiar with the family may have helped the criminals carry out the operation successfully. The discovery has raised concerns about the role of trusted associates in criminal activities.

Security operatives said investigations are still ongoing to identify and arrest all individuals connected to the kidnapping. The police added that efforts are being intensified to uncover the full network behind the crime and ensure that everyone involved is brought to justice.

The command also reassured residents of Oyo State that it remains committed to tackling kidnapping and other security threats, while continuing its efforts to secure the release and safety of victims and prosecute those responsible.
