Nigerian singer Spyro has expressed concern over what he describes as a growing lack of love, empathy, and unity among Nigerians.
In a heartfelt message shared on his Instagram page, the singer reflected on his experiences over the past two months, saying they have opened his eyes to what he believes is a serious problem within the country's social structure.
According to Spyro, many people now prioritize their personal interests over the well-being of others. He blamed the situation on poor upbringing, arguing that many parents have raised children who focus mainly on themselves rather than caring for those around them.
The singer stated that selfishness has become widespread in society and warned that the trend is negatively affecting relationships and national unity.
“Parents have raised selfish children, and now selfish people are everywhere in the country,” he wrote.
Spyro also spoke about the need for Nigerians to rediscover love, compassion, and concern for one another. The singer, who has recently used his social media platform to advocate for the rescue of abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State, said the country is suffering because many people no longer show genuine care for others.
He concluded his message with a prayer for national transformation, asking God to restore love in the hearts of Nigerians. According to him, the absence of empathy and unity is gradually damaging the nation's social fabric and slowing its progress.
His comments have since sparked conversations online, with many social media users sharing their opinions on the state of society, parenting, and the need for stronger values among citizens.
