Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo has alleged that certain politicians are behind the abduction of students in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, and has threatened to expose them if the attacks continue.
Igboho made the comments while speaking to new executive members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by Akinteye Bàbátunde, during a meeting at his residence in Soka, Ibadan.
In a video shared by Wisdom TV and now circulating online, Igboho claimed he had offered to personally lead efforts to flush out the kidnappers but said the state government declined his offer.
He also denied claims that he demanded money from the Oyo State government led by Governor Seyi Makinde to assist in rescuing the abducted students, insisting his intention was purely voluntary.
According to him, the kidnappers are not supernatural beings but humans who can be defeated if security forces act decisively.
He said:
“If I am permitted to burst into the hideouts, they will flee. They are neither gnomes nor mannequins; they are humans… I know the politicians behind them, and if they do not stop, I will mention them all. The politicians are the ones giving them ammunition and money.”
Igboho further alleged that some political actors are deliberately making the country ungovernable through insecurity and propaganda, comparing the situation to past political tensions in Nigeria.
He claimed that even when he offered to help rescue the abducted students, authorities reportedly rejected his involvement, warning that the kidnappers might harm the victims if he intervened directly.
He concluded that if given approval, he and his supporters could drive the attackers out of the forests and restore safety to affected communities.
The claims have sparked fresh debate online, with many Nigerians calling for stronger action to secure the release of the abducted students and improve security in affected areas.
