EPL: Elliot Anderson completes record-breaking £116 million move to Manchester City

Manchester City have completed the signing of midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest in a record-breaking deal worth £116 million, making him the most expensive British footballer in history.


The 23-year-old's transfer surpasses the previous British transfer record of £115 million, which Real Madrid agreed to pay for Jude Bellingham when they signed him from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023.


Manchester City confirmed the transfer in an official statement, announcing that both clubs had reached an agreement for Anderson's move to the Premier League champions.


The club revealed that Anderson is currently representing England at the FIFA World Cup and has already completed his medical examination in Kansas, United States. However, the remaining paperwork and formalities will be completed after he returns to England following the tournament.
