“I’ll Still Campaign for Tinubu Despite Being Owed” – Yoruba Actor Baraka Speaks Out

Nollywood actor Oluwole Cole, popularly known as Baraka, has revealed that he remains committed to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, despite claiming he was never paid for campaigning during the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking in an interview with African A List, the actor said his loyalty to Tinubu goes beyond financial gain, explaining that politics has always been a part of his upbringing as an indigene of Lagos Island.

Baraka alleged that he, alongside several other supporters, suspended their regular jobs and acting careers to campaign for Tinubu during the 2023 elections. According to him, they were promised payment for their efforts, but the money was never received.

The actor disclosed that he sacrificed several acting roles and master of ceremonies (MC) engagements while actively participating in the campaign, resulting in significant financial losses.

Despite expressing disappointment over the unpaid compensation, Baraka said he still believes Seyi Tinubu, son of the President, will eventually fulfill the promise.

"During the 2023 election, I campaigned for Tinubu, but we were not given any money. Many of us left our jobs to campaign. Apart from acting, I'm also an MC, and I know how much I can earn in a month.

"I lost work opportunities and acting jobs during that period, and in the end, we were not paid the money we were promised.

"As for me, Seyi Tinubu will still pay my own money. He is a good boy, so he will settle me. I'm from Lagos Island; politics is part of our way of life. I'm involved in politics, and I will continue to support Tinubu. I can't leave him."
