“Do you know how much I spent to get to this size?” – Wumi Toriola Responds to Troll Who Called Her “Lean”

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has responded to a social media troll who criticised her appearance and described her as “lean.”

The actress addressed the comment during a live session with her fans, where she explained that her slimmer appearance was simply the result of a deliberate weight-loss journey.

Wumi made it clear that she had lost weight, rather than becoming unusually thin because of an illness. She also revealed that achieving her current body shape came at a significant financial cost.

According to the actress, people often make assumptions about someone's health based solely on their physical appearance without knowing what the person has gone through.

She questioned whether those criticising her knew how much she had spent and the effort she had put into achieving her current size.

“I did weight loss; don’t you know it is more expensive than food? When you guys have an ulcer, you believe everyone must have an ulcer.”

Wumi further explained that people sometimes associate significant weight loss with sickness, particularly when someone is recovering from an illness such as typhoid.

She insisted that nothing was wrong with her, stressing that her new appearance was a result of her weight-loss efforts and not a health problem.

“Do you know how much I spent to get to this size? You will say, ‘I have lost so much weight.’ When someone is recovering from typhoid, that is when they say the person is lean.”

The actress concluded by reassuring her fans that she was healthy, saying:

“Nothing is wrong with me; I am not sick and wouldn’t die.”

Wumi's response has since drawn attention as she urged people to avoid making assumptions about others based solely on their physical appearance.
