Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has addressed a long-standing misconception about her marriage, clarifying that she is not her husband’s second wife.
The actress made the clarification during an interview with BBC Yoruba, where she explained that although her husband may have been married before, she did not meet another woman living in his home when she got married to him.
“I stopped acting to focus on my family. I’m not a second wife; my husband might’ve had a marriage before, but I didn’t meet anyone in his house,” Filani said.
The actress also opened up about her decision to step away from acting for several years. According to her, she voluntarily paused her acting career to concentrate on raising and caring for her family.
Filani explained that she made the decision because she wanted to give her children her full attention during their formative years. However, with her children now grown and more independent, she believes the time is right for her to return to the entertainment industry.
“My kids are grown; they know left from right, and it’s time for me to get back to acting,” she added.
The actress’ comments have shed light on both her family choices and the reason behind her prolonged absence from the movie industry, while also putting to rest her claim that she entered her marriage as a second wife.
