Chinasa sent her maid on an errand so as to carry out her operation without been interrupted and while the maid was away,Chinasa hit the sledge hammer on her daughter who died instantly and she was about to kill the baby when the maid returned.In an attempt to kill the maid,she left the baby and ran after the maid who fled the scene and raised an alarm but before all neighbours could reach the house,Chinasa had gone back to kill the baby.Her arrest was made immediately after her husband reported her to the police.She confessed to committing the crime but said she was ordered by a spirit.
