"You Have To Be Down To Earth" Actress Sola Sobowale As She Shares Career Secret


Veteran actress Sola Sobowale has shared a few mysteries to remaining important in  the Nigerian movie industry.

In a recently available Instagram chat with comedian, Woli Arole, Sobowale outlined the measures which have worked towards her relevance in the industry for more than three decades.

The award-winning actress says, “the grace of God which can take someone anywhere in life, being a team player, good behavior and character’ will help any personality stay ahead and relevant.


Giving a similarity, the ‘King Of Boys’ lead character said, “In your absence as an actress and your name is mentioned, you would be joining a movie set, the crew is excited to receive you rather than grumble, the director would not want to waste money having a troublemaker on a production set. Anywhere you go in life, you must be of your best behavior, you must know how to carry people along.”

Proceeding, she says, “You have to be down to earth, be good, be nice, do unto others what you want others to do to you, philosophy of life is don’t keep taking, know how to give back, and another key is the prayer that is how I have been living my life.”


She joined acting through numerous roles in movies produced by Awada Kerikeri Group under the leadership of Adebayo Salami. Over the years, she had scripted, co-scripted, directed and produced several Nigerian films. She scripted, produced and directed, Ohun Oko Somida, a 2010 Nigerian film that stars Adebayo Salami. She featured in Dangerous Twins, a 2004 Nigerian drama film produced by Tade Ogidan, written and directed by Niji Akanni. She also featured in Family on Fire produced and directed by Tade Ogidan.

In 2019, she received the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role in 2018 Nigerian film: King of Boys. - Wikipedia
