Actor Lateef Adedimeji Reacts After Reno Omokri Called Him Out For Stealing His Work.

Mr. Reno Omokri, the award-winning author of Fact vs Fiction, has called Mr. Adedimeji Lateef, a Nigerian star, for stealing one of his wisdom nuggets without giving him due credit.

According to Mr. Reno Omokri, he said that Mr Adedimeji Lateef copied his nuggets word for word and failed to give him due credits for his work, which is plagiarism and also a very dishonest thing to do.

He further claimed that he feeds himself from the sales of his books and that it is really wrong for someone to just raise his work without giving him proper credits. The stolen wisdom nuggets that were posted on the Twitter page of Mr omokri on 21 May 2018 and 10 January 2020 respectively were seen on the Instagram page of Mr Adedimeji Lateef today, 30 September 2020.

Reno took to his Instagram and wrote:

Who is this @AdedimejiLateef? What he has done is very dishonest. He stole my #RenosNuggets word for word and refused to give me credit. This is plagiarism. I feed myself and my family from sales of my books. I did not steal government money. For someone to just lift, word for word, without giving credit is wrong! Very wrong.

Because he was popular, other pastors began to copy him. They felt his popularity was in the way he preached. It was not. It was in his calling. It was only when he died that people discovered that he preached that way because he was weakened by cancer.

Adedimeji took to his Instagram page to acknowledge the mistake.

He wrote;

Reno accepted his apology via his Instagram page. He wrote; "Dear @AdedimejiLateef,

Thank you for your apology and for acknowledging that the quote is mine. I accept your apology and completely forgive you. Moreover, I pray that God will bless you for your humility. Scripture says ‘God gives grace to the humble’. For this thing you have done, please expect your acting career to explode with success, in Christ’s name"
