Popular Prophetess Arrested For Allegedly Blackmailing Individuals In Ogun State

Oluwakemi Sotonode, the Prophetess of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly fraudulently collecting millions from many people.

The suspect, also identified as Marvelous, was arrested by operatives attached to the Public Complaint Bureau unit at her hideout on Tuesday, October 6, following a series of allegations of fraud made against her.


It was learned that the prophetess of CCC Marvelous model parish, was announced wanted by the police following a complaint in November 2019 by one Idris Ilyas who claimed that she scammed him.

According to Idris, the suspect contacted him to supply a company with kaolin stone, and the Prophetess went to the company after he made the supply, received N1.2 million on his behalf, and converted it to her personal use.



In March 2020, under the pretense of providing 40 bags of rice to Gbolagade Damilola, the same suspect received the amount of N670, 000 and she ran away.

Command spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the development, said the Prophetess confirmed the allegations of fraud but was unable to provide any reasonable account of everything.
