Funke Akindele, a Nollywood actress and content creator, has taken to social media to express her dissatisfaction with the use of face masks, which she believes is limiting her celebrity status.
The mother of two claimed that wearing a face mask has made it difficult for people to recognize her in public places in a Twitter post.
The actress described how she enters a restaurant wearing a face mask and glasses, among other things. Until the attendants realize she's a celebrity, she's treated like any other passenger.
According to the actress, her celebrity advantage has been limited by her use of a face mask in accordance with the COVID-19 protocol.
She tweeted: "You enter an eatery earing your face mask and sunglasses. You ask the attendant question and they answer reluctantly. Then maybe by chance they see your face and recognize you as an actress then that is when they will be like “awww it’s you jenifa, Hi ana waho!!"
