Asisat Oshoala, a striker for the Super Falcons of Nigeria, has joined the 20-person shortlist for the Women's Ballon d'Or prize in 2022.
Oshoala, 27, recently surpassed her countrywoman Perpetua Nkwocha in winning the 2022 CAF Women's Player of the Year award by winning it for the fifth time.
She will, therefore, compete for the Ballon d'Or award against strong competitors including Sam Kerr, Vivianne Miedema, Beth Mead, and Alex Morgan.
