After his senior colleagues Modupe Johnson and Fausat Balogun, also known by their stage names Madam Saje and Fali Werepe, exchanged insults at his 63rd birthday party, veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri posted a message about friendship on his social media page.
Remembers that at Yinka Quadri's 63rd surprise birthday party, Madam Saje and Fali Werepe nearly got into a fight.
A video that surfaced online shows Madam Saje criticizing a colleague during a speech at Yinka Quadri's birthday celebration.
Fali Werepe exclaimed in reaction to Madam Saje's statement that she had known the celebrant for close to 50 years.
Madam Saje stated she is Fali Werepe's senior in the Nollywood industry and took the statement as an insult.
She said;
“Fali, I senior you in this profession – let’s say it in public, I don’t talk too much, I am your Oga”.
Fali Werepe claimed that the actress just brought attention to her exaggeration and that she has no grudge toward her.
She explains;
“When she said she has been with Yinka for over 50 years, I shouted ahhhhh, and I am not the only one who shouted ahhhh. People know when we started filming, but we haven’t been in the industry for 50 years. Me and Abeni are friends, and we can’t fight, but we haven’t been in the industry for 50 years”.
Yinka Quadri uploaded a picture of himself and his friends at an event after this controversy. The veteran actor pointed out that friendship is about people who showed up and stayed, not about who arrived first.
