Blackn face calls out Asake over intellectual theft
Blackface disclosed to HipTV that he felt he should have been in the song because some of his lines were used in Joha. Joha, he believes, should have performed a remix with him and Asake.
Taking a dig at Asake's record label boss, Olamide, Blackface claimed that if Olamide had reached out to him, they would have collaborated.
When Blackface first heard the song, the first thing that struck him was the same line that he used in his own song, which was released in 2020.
He stated clearly that he isn't trying to discredit Asake's work, but simply wants to be recognized for it.
He wrote:
"While listening to the music, the first thing that struck me was the line. That was the line I used in my own songs. In the year 2020, I had already been released. That song had already been included in an album. Though I mean no disrespect because these people have done some great work, I believe it is all about you realizing and giving credit to those who deserve it. You comprehend. I'm not out to destroy them. I feel like they are doing it unconsciously".
"I believe I should be on Asake's Joha. That would have been a remix with me and him if Olamide had said 'my boy is vibing to your sound'".
