Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh has taken to her Instagram page on the evening of August 17 to express her disapproval of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) inviting singer Naira Marley to their premises.
NDLEA shared photos of Naira Marley alongside its Director General, Buba Marwa, declaring the artist's visit to the agency headquarters as a demonstration of support for the War Against Drug Abuse. The agency captioned the photo with: "Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) with music star, Naira Marley when the artiste paid a visit to the National Headquarters of the Agency in Abuja to declare support for the War Against Drug Abuse on Thursday 17th August 2023.''
Tonto Dikeh, however, did not mince her words in expressing her displeasure. In a sharp Instagram post, she branded the agency as "unserious" and used strong language to criticize the move. Tonto expressed that she would unfollow the agency, and if provoked, she was prepared to stand her ground.
The actress wrote:
"I’ll unfollow now… You guys are the most unserious set of folks!!! And if you come for me I’ll be ready!!!!! Shit hole!!! shittier home!!! I don’t involve myself in bullshit, especially other people’s bullshit… This I must say is the biggest embarrassment from any government agency/drug law enforcement agency… I would like to say more but I’ll wait for @ndlea_nigeria to pick me up for an interview/Drug test/ or just a chat on why I’m bold enough to call them out!!!! Sirs/ma’s I’M READY. You know my address, I’ll ask you to do it respectfully otherwise we’ll have a PROBLEM….. And if I’m replied I’ll gladly respond disrespectfully…… I have absolutely nothing wrong with the said artist but the government………"
Tonto Dikeh's fiery response highlights her passionate stance on the matter and her willingness to engage in a direct and bold exchange with NDLEA. The incident underscores the dynamic interplay between public figures and government agencies on social media, as well as the weight of such statements in contemporary discourse.
