Renowned Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, has offered his perspective on why he believes the late singer Mohbad fulfilled his life's purpose.
In an emotional video shared on his Instagram page, Afolayan expressed his deep sorrow over Mohbad's recent passing. He went on to convey his belief that every individual is born into this world with a specific purpose to fulfill. According to him, it is only after that purpose has been accomplished that one can depart from this world.
While Afolayan did not suggest that Mohbad should not receive justice or that those responsible for his death should not be held accountable, he drew a parallel to the late American citizen George Floyd. Afolayan posited that, like Floyd, Mohbad came into this world to serve a purpose – initiating a movement and bringing about liberation for many.
Afolayan emphasized how Mohbad's untimely death has shone a spotlight on critical issues within the music industry, particularly regarding record labels. He views this as an enlightening moment for many.
Afolayan concluded his message by extending his condolences to the deceased singer's wife, son, parents, and family members. He entrusted the responsibility of bringing the perpetrators to justice to the authorities.
In essence, Kunle Afolayan's perspective on Mohbad's passing is that, regardless of the quest for justice, the late singer fulfilled a significant purpose during his time on Earth, much like George Floyd's impact on the Black Lives Matter movement.
