My Husband Is Not A Magician, Says First Lady Oluremi Tinubu

During an interdenominational church service commemorating Nigeria's 63rd Independence Anniversary in Abuja, the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, addressed the nation. She stressed that her husband, President Bola Tinubu, is not a magician but is dedicated to the task of rebuilding the country. Mrs. Tinubu acknowledged the challenges inherited by the Tinubu administration, emphasizing that their goal is to repair what has been damaged without assigning blame to previous administrations.

She underlined her husband's unwavering commitment to resolving the nation's issues and his belief that a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria is attainable. While addressing the congregation, Mrs. Tinubu also emphasized the significance of good governance.

In her speech, she highlighted the importance of individuals embodying the characteristics of Jesus Christ, which include love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, and forgiveness. She stated that these qualities should be mirrored in the governance of the country for it to thrive.

Mrs. Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and embrace unity, recognizing the nation's diverse makeup. She cited Matthew 11:28, where Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," as a source of solace during challenging times.

She concluded her address by emphasizing the need for Nigerians to uphold their lively hope, instilled by Jesus Christ, and celebrate the unity that defines the nation's diversity.
